My brother Brandon and his boyfriend Bruce invited me and Kimberly to come meet some gallery curators they knew during this formerly unknown to me Art Walk in Culver City.
There was creative and inspiring work to be seen coupled with a quite bohemian and friendly crowd.
As usual, with most art shows, people eventually congregate away from the art toward the middle of the room and get lost in each other with their backs facing the walls, oblivious to the art that brought them here...
But I endeavored to study what the artist was trying to communicate and speculated on each art piece's muse...and enjoyed the time with my family and friends.
Set at a meeting in Marina del Rey to introduce Dana, the creator of Herban Bodycare, to Tomo an international branding specialist and artist. Tomo has a studio in Tokyo, California, New York and is developing 2 other international ateliers for future artistic projects.
Dana's line is already being sold in boutiques in Japan and they are looking to take her brand to a new level in other Asian countries. Tomo, and consummate professional and talent in branding is advising with the transition.
Glancing acrossmy friend Kimberly's stuff splayed across a counter, this creature caught my eye's corner. Initialimpulse was to wait and see if the abstract creature slithered away buy inert it remained. Took me a few seconds to realize what it was and since then, I still only see it as the pile of wormsI impulsively thought it was. Would that it were so simple...
Shooting for clients, I sometimes come across some really inspired clothing designs. Shooting for Satiine in Los Angeles, Katie came out from the changing area draped in this beautiful ADEAM top that struck me as a piece of art in this highly derivative and conservation American fashion industry. Surprisingly inexpensive for a piece art!
Love to shoot the female form...Black and White makes the image more mysterious, color makes it more sexy....torn sometimes what to show, how to say.
